This was our first time in Gettysburg and I loved the proximity to everything with this B&B. We were able to walk to everything from Mead next door, an Irish Pub, mass, Starbucks, and tours! It was a birthday weekend, and our room had period art with birthday wishes throughout. We also had both houses to ourselves! Perks of going during a snowy weekend.
Things to note: breakfast is not included, but offered for a charge. There are two historic homes, so each room selection on their website should let you know what location. We were in the Welty house. This wasn’t clear to me when we booked on a third party site, and please book on their site. So much easier for them and cheaper for us!
Finally, we loved sitting and having tea and coffee, watching our favorite show, and keeping warm while the snow fell. Such an amazing experience. Thank you!
PS communication was fabulous!
We loved our stay! Super convenient location and easy to walk everywhere. The Inn is beautiful and was really quiet, even for NYE. The only minor "issue" was booking through a third party. It was a bit of a hassle to get the key code, as …
We several times before with the previous owners and it was lovely. Unfortunately, not anymore. Similar to other posters, the room was terribly hot. They had already changed their a/c over to heat, and we only had a ceiling fan. The window …
Amazing! Loved it! We (husband and I) met up with his brother and wife there. My husband and I stayed in the Illinois room up stairs. We stayed 2 nights and had breakfast next door which the food was Amazing as well. Service was excellent and the staff was so pleasant to talk to. We went on a ghost tour of Gettysburg (just down the street both directions) and was told of the history of Gettysburg.
My wife and I had a fantastic time. Our room was beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. The staff went out of their way to welcome and make us feel at home. We reserved a room already for next year. Thanks again. An awesome vacation!!!
This is the place to stay when in Gettysburg. Centrally located and within walking distance to everything in town. Awesome staff that is eager to please. Cozy comfortable rooms. Delicious filling breakfast. This beautiful historic home is a time capsule that will add to your Gettysburg experience.
This was my second time staying here and it was as great as the first. This beautiful historical home is the perfect location to stay while in Gettysburg. The staff is very friendly and eager to please. Breakfast is tasty and filling. Rooms are cozy and comfortable. Staying here is like going back in time. I would highly recommend Brickhouse Inn.
I have stayed here many times in the past when the previous owners had it. I've stayed now two times since the new owner's purchased it. I am disappointed in the new look. The paint scheme is hideous. They no longer offer breakfast yet. Their room rates are as high as ever. The service out of the staff is much different than with the previous owners. It's more of a motel than a bed and breakfast. I'm really sad to see this. Great bed and breakfast turn into a cheap ugly motel with bad service and a hot tub in the yard. Unfortunately, after my last stay I'm going to have to start finding somewhere new to stay as the rapid decline that is very visible in their customer service and even some of the upkeep makes me feel that the price is not worth the stay there anymore and I don't mind spending that much or more on a room. But with it I want good customer service. Good breakfast and a place that doesn't look like it was painted by a preschooler with unfinished work left blatantly visible
